Step1Lead-in

Talk about different ways of greeting in   different countries .

 

Step 2: Fast reading

1. Skim the whole passage and find out what subjects they talked about   concerning cultural differences.

Step 3: Detailed reading

1. Try to search for some information   about the reaction to the present.

2.Listen to the tape to fill in the blanks about weddings inBruneiandKorea.

3. Search for information about the   gesture of pointing.

4. Search for information about going   into someone’s house.

5. Try to grasp information about   Bonfire Night.

While searching for information, present   different expressions to check the answers in task-based reading.

Step 4: Group discussion

Do you think it necessary or not to   learn about cultural differences? Why?

Step   5 : Writing

Write a short passage about cultural differences.

Step 6: Homework

Finish the composition after class.
